The Wisdom Of Wood

I appreciate this space and community so much; it felt ick to leave you hanging. So, I'm popping in with a gift: a digital download to inspire alchemy.

This alchemical magic was lovingly curated and Reiki-infused to inspire kindness, ambition, and creativity.

The Power Of Wood

I designed it with nature in mind—wood, to be specific. Wood, like the type of tree you dream of curling up under, book in hand, picnic basket nearby, to spend hours of self-care in the gentle sunshine.

The choice of wood as my muse is intentional. Traditional Chinese Medicine views humans as part of nature and connected to the elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each one holds wisdom about ourselves, our strengths, and even our challenges. As a unified ecosystem, we can draw upon the archetypes in nature to help us understand our pitfalls and potential.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Wood energy represents growth, new beginnings, creativity, and expression. Healthy, vibrant Wood energy promotes kindness, ambitions, and creativity. However, obstructed wood energy can cause intense feelings of frustration, rage, and anger. It's normal to oscillate between these emotions, yet to lean into those that cultivate understanding, calm, and joy.

Think of Wood as the best friend of the Liver, one of the five major organs in TCM. The Liver stores and manages this energy, keeping us energized, flexible, and emotionally balanced.

Here are some simple ways to cultivate mindful Wood energy and find a peaceful, content state where you can radiate kindness to yourself and others:

They include:

  • Yin Yoga: postures for the Liver meridians

  • time in nature: touching a tree or gazing out the window

  • Reiki and energy work: clear blockages

  • solar plexus chakra practices: connect with your power center

  • visual spells: like the one I made you!

Use it as phone wallpaper, screen saver, or a favorite in your photo album to invoke the archetype of stable, connected Wood.
